camp tour - activities Archery
Archery is well liked by many campers. As with our other target sports, instructors teach the girls on a safe and well marked range. Many girls excel at archery due to their early ability to concentrate and focus their fine motor skills. Success is measured by an awards program developed by the Camp Archery Association. At the end of the season we hold a junior and senior archery tournament.

Arts and Crafts
Each summer we welcome an art director who brings fresh ideas for both fine art and craft projects at camp. Using everything from traditional art media to pine cones found in the woods the campers enjoy hours of gently guided quiet time to create beautiful and sometimes whimsical pieces of art. We hold an art exhibit at the end of each session so that the entire camp community can see what everyone has been working on.

Riflery
Riflery is a very popular upper camp activity. Girls, ages 12 and older, participate in the National Riflery Association Program, setting goals to achieve pins as well as participating in the end of the year tournament. Our program is run by a trained and certified instructor.

Playing Fields
Jeanne d'Arc's program includes a host of land sports: soccer, lacrosse, softball, field hockey and ultimate frisbee to name a few. Most of the playing fields span the area between the Hearth and the Chalet, and spectators can easily spot the competitions. At Jeanne d’Arc we focus on skills girls can use for life, the games we play are mostly non-competitive except for when we play other camps. Go Jeanne d’Arcers!

Equestrian
Riding is an optional activity. We offer novice through advanced riding instruction three or six times a week. We have a beautiful, airy 10 horse barn, an Olympic riding arena and are surrounded by numerous woodland trails. Riding is a popular activity at Jeanne d'Arc and every summer the girls showcase their talents in the camp Horse Show and have fun at the horse and rider dress up parade. For the last several years we have had the good fortune to have the talents, dedication and skill of the Wright family from nearby 3-D Farm as our riding instructors. Thank you Dapheny, Morgan and Taylor!

Water Sports
The waterfront on fourteen-mile Lake Chateaugay provides an incredible, fresh-water setting for all types of water sports. These include beginner to advanced sailing, canoeing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, instructional swimming, swimming for fitness and "fun in the sun." All waterfront activities are taught and supervised by certified Red Cross instructors and lifeguards.
